BOARD OF TRUSTEE
MEETING MINUTES
FEBRUARY 1, 2010
Present:Mary Simpson, Jerry Whitson, Kathy Rains, Dr. Reed Wouters, Alisa Carter
Absent: Gynemia Walker
Mary Simpson called the meeting to order at 5:22 p.m.
Mary Simpson reported that Alisa Carter had been deputized by Jeanne Lindsey County Clerk to administer the Oath of Office to Dr. Reed Wouters as Hickory County Health Board Trustee in her absence. At that time Dr. Reed Wouters was then sworn into office as Hickory County Board Trustee to serve the remaining term through April 2011.
The January board meeting minutes were reviewed. Jerry Whitson made a motion to accept the minutes. Reed Wouters seconded and the motion carried with all in favor.
The 2009 financial reports were reviewed. The expenditure report and check detail was reviewed and Kathy Rains made motion to pay expenditures, seconded by Jerry Whitson. Motion carried with all in favor.
The 2009 Program and staff reports were reviewed. Alisa reported community report will be made from the information compiled from the information and will be released in March.
Alisa reported the following contract information:
The Show Me Healthy Women Contract has been increased $1500.00 from total award of $16,000.00 to $17,500.00. The increase is to reimburse for cost incurred for providing exams and labs.
The WIC contract has been increased $4,570.00 from $31,686.00 to $36,256.00.00. The increase will offset and help cover the in-kind expenses.
There have been a total of 1,566 H1N1 vaccinations given to date.
New Business:
Alisa reported the Health Department received a grant of $1359.00 from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) for immunization programs.
Alisa reported that the National Public Health Governance Performance Assessment is a tool that can be used by the Board for quality assurance and training. Information will be given quarterly for the Board to review.
A cooperative agreement between Weaubleau R III School District and Hickory County Health Department was reviewed. Jerry Whitson made motion to approved, seconded by Kathy Rains, motion carried with all in favor.
Old Business: A draft agreement for the Pittsburg Community Grant was reviewed. It was noted that last July the Board put them as the first priority to assist with Chronic Disease Primary Prevention goals. Kathy Rains made motion to grant $5,000.00 according the guidelines listed in the agreement. It was seconded by Reed Wouters. Motion carried with all in favor. Mary Simpson and Alisa Carter are to present it to Pittsburg Community Corporation.
With no further business to discuss Jerry Whitson made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Reed Wouters. The meeting adjourned at 5:47 p.m.
